AIFF Player of Year Awards Goes to Jeje Lalpekhlua


Mumbai: Jeje Lalpekhlua receives the player of the year award 2016 by the All India Football Federation. He is the striker of India and Mohun Began. The lucky player got the award in the presence of the national team and the head coach Stephen Constantine and the AIFF president Praful Patel, general secretary Kushal Das and senior vice president Subrata Dutta.

Sasmita Malik was announced as the 2016 AIFF women’s player of the year. A special award is given to the Sunil Chettri who is the astonishing player and the India’s most prolific goal scorer. He scored 53 goals in just 93 matches and the award is for his outstanding performance on setting a milestone during the last year. The award is to acknowledge his commitment and dedication towards his game and country. Awesome players got awesome awards one must say for this man.

The president of the AIFF said that “this is the defining year for the Indian Football as we prepare to host the FIFA U-17 World Cup in less than 100 days. I am confident that with the guidance and support of the Union Government through the Ministry of Sports, we believe we will be able to host the best FIFA U-17 World Cup ever.”

The president congratulates all the winners and wishes them best of luck and his wordings were “I congratulate all the award winners for their immense contribution in growing the game in the country and wish them much more such recognitions in the future.” Well, these words will really boost the confidence and commitment of the young players and it will open the ways for the new ones because they will see that their hard work is appreciated and recognized. So, great words were delivered by the president of the AIFF for the sportsmen and women.

The award list cover many players and teams but the luckiest man is the striker Jeje Lalpekhlua. Because he is the player of the year 2016. It’s great achievement by this player and of course a great recognition by the AIFF. Such awards are really important for the players to increase their level of confidence and to give them with bundle of joy and energy and potential to play better than before.
