Three times winner of UEFA Champions Leagues, Manchester United Football Club is in news to sign teenager right-back Diogo Dalot from Porto. If this happens then could become José Mourinho’s first summer signing.
Jose Mourinho, a Portuguese football manager, and former football player have reportedly been in the market for a right-back to compete with Antonio Valencia for a place in United’s starting line-up.
Diogo Dalot a Portugal Under-21 international who only made his senior debut for Porto in February before he started in their goalless Champions League round-of-16 draw with Liverpool at Anfield in March. He has appeared for eight times only but has impressed United’s Portuguese scouts.
Diogo Dalot won the U17 Euros with Portugal in 2016, also played out of position for Porto at left-back in the Champions League knockout stages against Liverpool.
At the age of 11, Dalot joined Porto’s academy and he was not included in coach Fernando Santos’ 23-man World Cup squad. Dalot could become the first Porto player to move to United since Anderson in 2007. The Brazil midfielder eventually cost £25m.
Antonio Valencia, who turns 33 in August, is out of agreement toward the finish of next season and Mourinho has reserved Dalot as his long-haul beneficiary, with Matteo Darmian anticipated that would leave in the late spring.
