There is something special about being number 8th in the ranking International Cricket Council. Previously it was Pakistan who amazed the world by glorious victory in Champions Trophy 2017 and became the Champion with no fame and a status of under-dogs. This time it is West Indies who finished the test match in a glorious way, by witnessing the winning moment over England at Headingley Carnegie, Leeds in a 2nd Test match.

Since making his debut for West Indies, Shai Hope was always expected to a good cricketer for the future. He along with Kraigg Brathwaite were tipped as players that can play for West Indies for a long to come. Hope started poorly against England in the first game with West Indies getting dismissed by an innings and 209  runs in the first-ever day night at Edgbaston.

There was lot to play for West Indies after being decimated in the first game. The visitors set the tone with the ball in hand to dismiss England for 258 runs. Shai Hope then played like a top-class batsman going on to score his maiden century and added 240 runs with Brathwaite to see West Indies take a big lead into the game. England recoverd quickly and batted with intent to set West Indies a target of 322 runs to win the game at Headingley.

England might have thought that West Indies might crumble and hand over the game. In this particular game that was not case as Shai Hope once again produced a stellar show with the bat to see West Indies chase down runs. He batted well and put together crucial partnerships with the likes of Brathwaite, Roston Chase and Jermaine Blackwood to script a remakrable win for West Indies.
