UFC Star Conor McGregor Charged Over Backstage Brawl


An Irish professional mixed martial artist and boxer, Conor McGregor facing assault as well as criminal mischief by New York City Police Department. Conor McGregor, 29, has been part of the squad that vandalized a coach containing rival fighters from the UFC.

The NYPD said that Conor McGregor threw something through the window of the minibus and injuring the bus passengers. Mixed martial arts fighter Conor McGregor handed himself to the police in Brooklyn and he will appear at Brooklyn Criminal Court.

Just two days before the incident, UFC President Dana White stripped Conor McGregor of his UFC lightweight championship because he refused to defend the title.

Dana White said, “This is the most disgusting thing that has ever happened in the history of the company.” Further, Dana added, “This was a real bad career move for him.”

Michael Chiesa, another fighter on the bus had facial and head cuts from broken glass. UFC said, “The organization deems today’s disruption completely unacceptable and is currently working on the consequences that will follow.”

In the past year, Conor McGregor appeared to move away from the UFC turning his attention to the boxing world. Conor McGregor last fought eight months earlier, losing to undefeated Floyd Mayweather in a session that supposedly paid Mayweather more than $100 million.
